I can't believe I forgot the most important part of Lantern Festival: Eating round delicious glutinous rice balls called tangyuan '湯圓' (Southern China, Taiwan and Southeast Asia) or yuanxiao '元宵' (Northern China). They are beautiful and round like the moon and filled with a sweet filling. It's simple and easy to make, we do it every year on the 15th day of Lunar New Year. I made a video on how ...

Every generation believes they invented 'free love'. Heloise (1101-64) was a strong woman who opposed marriage, due to it making a woman into her husbands property. Mary Wollstoncraft (1759-97) held very similar beliefs, nearly 700 years later. Dorothy L Sayers invented a female character who opposed conventional marriage, in STRONG POISON, 1930. Although she went on to become the wife of Lord Peter Wimsey.

From 1:27 to 2:20 (almost 1/3 of your video) is completely plagiarized from the Wikipedia article’s section titled analysis. Below is the text from the Wikipedia page: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kitsch Modernist writer Hermann Broch argues that the essence of kitsch is imitation: kitsch mimics its immediate predecessor with no regard to ethics-it aims to copy the beautiful, not the good.[7] According to Walter Benjamin, kitsch, unlike art, is a utilitarian object lacking all critical distance between object and observer. According to critic Winfried Menninghaus, Benjamin's stance was that kitsch "offers instantaneous emotional gratification without intellectual effort, without the requirement of distance, without sublimation".[6] In a short essay from 1927, Benjamin observed that an artist who engages in kitschy reproductions of things and ideas from a bygone age deserved to be called a "furnished man"[8] (in the way that someone rents a "furnished apartment" where everything is already supplied). Kitsch is less about the thing observed than about the observer.[9] According to Roger Scruton, "Kitsch is fake art, expressing fake emotions, whose purpose is to deceive the consumer into thinking he feels something deep and serious."[10]

Kitsch goes back to the late 19C. The term was popularised in a German magazine called Kunswart. German reformers used this periodical to educate the public on the dangers of cheap, mass-produced objects which they believed would dilute the taste of middle_class culture.

Thank you for your fantastic videos. You do a lot to pronounce Vincent van Gogh correctly. "Vincent" is easy "Gogh" is impossible. But what all English speaking academic do wrong is the little word "van". If you listen carefully to Wikipedia's sound track you will notice that the "v" in "van" is pronounced like "f" in English. The same goes for the composer Ludwig van Beethoven. All Germans know because in German the equivalent word is "von" pronounced like "fon": Otto von Bismarck or Wehrner von Braun.

Oil.paints don't really yeLow, not enough.to mention it. Modern oils.essentially don't yellow. Old paintings suffered from smoke, pollution and things which will yellow acrylic paintings too. Plus we use better refined oils, and non yellowing safflower oil in titanium white. Lead white is no longer used

Women in art. Yes, they were denied places of position. But women were and are the seeds of art. Without women there would be no art. They teach their children. They encourage. They inspire. Women are the essence of art. Women are the foundation of art.
